About me... abbreviated version

Hi, I’m Jessica, but I prefer to go by Jess. After nearly 14 years working for the U.S. Air Force and building a career that many would consider “successful,” I made the bold (and prayer-covered) decision to step away from my six-figure job to be more present with my kids and focus on what matters most to me—faith, family, and home.
My husband, Luke, and I are currently preparing to move our 3 kids and beloved golden doodle across the country to the Pacific Northwest, where we’re excited to plant roots, build a slower, more intentional life, and embrace the beauty of simplicity. We’re a faith-oriented family—not perfect by any stretch, but always striving to grow in grace, love well, and live out our values in the everyday moments.
This blog is a reflection of that journey. It’s where I plan to share recipes from our table, lessons learned in gardening and homemaking, and honest reflections on faith and family life.
My hope is that this space feels like a cozy seat by the hearth—where real life is shared, encouragement is offered, and you’re reminded that you’re not walking this road alone.

Coming soon...
We all start somewhere — eventually, I plan to update this area to provide a little more detail on where I came from. My testimony is one of perseverance and to finally put it into words may take a while… hold tight, though. It’s coming.

To know yourself is not just to look inward, but to look backward—to the faith that anchored your ancestors, the values passed down, and the simple beauty of a life well-lived.
